| Nizami Ganjevi (1141-1209) |
| Ghazal |
|
O radiant-faced
beloved, whose cherished bride will you be? You are shaded
this eve by the awning your master has spread, You are sweeter
than honey, no sherbet is sweeter than you In the darkness
of night you're a lamp with bright light, God guard you from evil eye, You are gone,
how can poor Nizami live alone with his grief? Translated by Olga Moisseyenko |
